What Are Addition Word Problems?
Word problems tell little stories that we solve using math!
They help us understand how addition works in real life. When we see words like "total," "all together," or "in all," it usually means we need to add!
How to Solve Addition Word Problems
1️⃣ Listen or read the problem carefully
2️⃣ Find the numbers you need to add
3️⃣ Count or add to find the total
Let's Practice Together!
Example 1: The Apple Tree

Emma has 5 apples all together!
3 apples + 2 apples = 5 apples
Example 2: Toy Cars
Liam has 4 toy cars. His friend Noah gives him 3 more cars. How many cars does Liam have in all?
Liam has 7 toy cars in all!
4 cars + 3 cars = 7 cars
